Secular Charlotte Mason

KodyGirl asked me to post about this series as she is pretty sure that all kids should read this series lol. The series is called Percy Jackson and the Olympians and the first book is The Lightning Thief. The series is by Rick Riordan. I've not read these myself but from what she and a friend told me kids will enjoy the books best if they are well grounded in Greek Mythology. Apparently Mr. Riordan takes the characters from Greek myths and places them in new, hilarious plots. I have to say these books must be extremely funny. In the last week I have sat beside two different girls (one nearly 9 and another 12) reading a book from the series and each was convulsing into fits of giggles and snorts of laughter as they read. I'm thinking I may need to read this series afterall. I could use a bit more humour in my life. Kody Girl *highly highly* recommends this series and so does our friend PonyGirl.
