We finally found something that sparked my child's interest in Fine Art. Our house is so dark this time of year that it makes it hard to see the paintings in books clearly, even sitting by a big window, so we used a book light. Holding the light close to the painting we could see details better and were surprised at what we discovered. Then we got out the magnifying glass. We weren't able to read some of the words but it was enough excitement to examine all the pictures we looked at before this. I found it fun too.

We used this book for this but any would do. http://www.amazon.com/Childs-Book-Art-Great-Pictures/dp/1564582035

We love that book, too, Cori -- and your idea sounds marvelous!  I think I'll try that this weekend!
