Have any of you been watching this on PBS?  I *finally* got to watch it last night and got completely sucked into it.  It really helped round out my view of southern US history (the episode was on the Cherokee) and included a lot of information I didn't know even though I do read a fair amount about native history. Fascinating stuff!  I can't wait to see the episode on Geronimo as it looks to be something other than your typical proGeronimo piece. I also watched the behind the scenes part and was impressed with how much they are consulting with the Native peoples about how the information should be told and the emphasis on keeping the native languages alive. Thinking this is one I may have to actually buy as it fits right in with our study of the 1800s. I was really wishing my son and hubby were watching it with me.
