So I've been on this new kick to add some videos to the reading. Specifically when we're studying history. I think the video of the countries really helps. So, does anyone have any ideas of video documentary lists? I've been searching the library but that doesn't really help with how good the video is.

I'm no help. We rely on the travel shows from PBS/OPB. Specifically Globe Trekker (it's hip and the kids enjoy it, have to be comfortable with some adult content) and Rick Steve's Europe (he always shows the ruins and art of where he is and tosses in some history). For history and science specifically I have relied pretty heavily on videos from Schessinger Media. I'll often go to their website (just google them) to see what they have produced and then I will go to the library website to see if they carry that particular video. Occasionally I'll buy a used version via ebay or somewhere like that. Hopefully someone else will have more recommendations for you. I'm lucky that Drakon and KodyGirl are extremely tolerant of dry dusty documentaries and Tide doesn't use videos at all.

Have you checked out Paula's archives? Her site is not completely secular, but the list of movies for history has some good suggestions: http://www.redshift.com/~bonajo/movies.htm
