Secular Charlotte Mason

Former Homeschooler, did twelve years with my three boys using a combination of Charlotte Mason and Classical methods.  My kids are now graduated, in public school, or community college while I pursue my own long-delayed dreams of higher education.  I'm currently enrolled in a graduate program for Public History.

Actually, it's all Gina's fault.  All of it.  ;-) 

One caveat:  I've always been a firm believer in the "better late than early" school when it comes to homeschooling.  Charlotte Mason believed that children learn best when they have time to be children.  My homeschooling years can best be summed up in that philosophy:  giving my children time to be children, to find their own selves in the midst of everything around them--and then making sure they can read, write, and last but not least, suss out information and ideas for themselves.
